Hazel Oceans

Shafts of light pierce through dense woods,

to fall upon the petals of her fragile skin.

Her diamond necklace melts into her silk gown

and shimmers she, brighter than the hoary moon.

Golden wisps of bougainvillea run down her shoulders

Veiling her naked spine, touching it, swaying.

Her hazel oceans swindle despondent ferries;

fetter them to the sympathy of her tempestuous will.

They ebb with the resonance of her beseeching hymn,

laying bare pristine treasures, unsung, unheard of.

Rocky caverns dilate to let her soul out,

and shrink amidst her sinister notes.

Ghosts of the past, they threaten her to world’s end,

to fall back to their graves, destroyed.

She remains oblivious to the decaying flotsam, to everything,

as her oceans dissolve the earth beneath.

Her stream of consciousness just draws her nearer.

She arrives. And waits.
